Sponsored and organized by the Gettysburg College student media, Speak Up, Write Out is a daylong dialogue exploring the intricacies of the media and journalism industries. The event brings together professionals, college students, and educators from across the North East to engage in panel discussions and networking opportunities. This years conference will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2012. The organizers of the conference put a new spin on the old breakout session format. Each session slot will have three options for participants to choose from and each of those three options is to be run by a panel of media professionals. All of the panel participants come from different backgrounds, levels of experience, and mediums such as print, television, radio or film. Speak Up, Write Out provides participants with a full day of creative, innovative and entertaining events. The goal of the conference is to teach students something new, no matter what their level of experience is, and to inspire and ignite a new passion in students for the world of media and journalism. Speak Up, Write Out is free to all Gettysburg College students and is offered at a very modest price to all other undergraduate students, postgraduate students and the general public. The conference costs $7 per individual for those who register and submit payment prior to February 8, 2012 or $10 per individual for those who register and/or submit payment after February 8, 2012. The registration fee includes all conference materials, a continental breakfast and lunch buffet. |
